OLLI at Pitt Suspends Further Spring Term Osher Courses and Events

Tuesday, March 10, 2020

As you know, the Coronavirus is presenting as a complex and serious health issue to people all around the world with the situation changing daily. Thankfully, the University is in regular contact on this matter with local health authorities and following guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

However, I am writing today to announce that, after examining the latest advice from the CDC and local authorities regarding high risk populations for acquiring and being seriously impacted from the Coronavirus, the University has decided to suspend all Osher courses and all events for the remainder of the Spring term.  This decision was made with University of Pittsburgh leadership and in consideration of precedence of other Universities and Osher programs nationally.

Additionally, effective March 11, 2020, the University of Pittsburgh is moving regular university courses to online or alternative activitiesTo learn more about Chancellor Gallagher's statement, click here.

I know this is a huge disappointment to all of you.  If we approach this distant threat with both caution and knowledge we can keep our community safe for everyone.

OLLI at Pitt staff will be in touch soon as we consider alternative ideas to connect you with learning, ideas and each other.
