Tuesday, November 30, 2021; 10 - 11 a.m.

The World of College Athletics

Online with the Zoom Platform.

Join Heather Lyke, Director of Athletics at the University of Pittsburgh, as she shares insight on the changing world of college athletics and success as a leader at a Division 1 Atlantic Coastal Conference institution that boasts 19 varsity sports programs. The conversation will include but not be limited to the following:

Her vision for our 800+ student-athletes, spirit squad, and band members include the launch of the capital project, Victory Heights
The changes occurring at the NCAA level which includes the new ACC, B1G, and PAC-12 conference alliance and the launch of Name Image Likeness for our student-athletes

Now in her fifth year as Pitt’s Director of Athletics, Lyke’s leadership has provided a lighthouse in the storm and kept an unyielding focus on the well-being of Pitt’s nearly 500 student-athletes. Lyke is a former collegiate student-athlete who worked at several college institutions serving multiple departments prior to serving as the leader of an athletics department.

Heather Lyke found the beginning of her professional path during her days as a scholarship student-athlete at the University of Michigan, where she captained the Wolverines’ Big Ten champion softball team. She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Michigan and a Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law.
