New Membership Registration Dates Announced! and Other Updates from the July 5th Newsletter

Osher ID Cards

Effective July 1, the University of Pittsburgh is removing COVID-related access restrictions for University buildings on all campuses. A Pitt ID or advanced registration will no longer be necessary to gain access into campus facilities. Should the health or safety of our campus communities change significantly, this may be revisited.

Renewing IDs

For those of you whose memberships are expiring, your current ID cards are probably also expiring. Once you renew membership, we will work on renewing your ID cards in the system. Once it is renewed we will contact you and let you know that you can get a new card. This may take a few weeks. If you need your card for some reason sooner, please email Pat  Szczepanski at pjs27@pitt.edu, and she will act on it.

Remember cards are valid until the last day of the month on the card. Most of the annual membership cards are not set to expire until 8/31 or 9/30 so we have some leeway. Never go for a new card unless you hear from us first or check with us.

Again, you currently do not need an ID card to get into campus buildings.

Fall Session Update

Memberships will be open for purchase on July 11. Current members will get an email this week telling them whether they need to purchase a new membership or not. Please watch for that email.

Registration for fall courses is tentatively set for July 25.

Parking Options for Summer

With second summer session underway, here is a reminder about where to park on campus.

Please take a look at Pitt's Parking Opportunities page. Here you will see more information about Accessible Parking, Bicycle Parking, and general Oakland Parking. The University Garages and Lots page lists locations and rates for nearby parking garages that include Sennot Square and Soldiers and Sailors. (note: Soldiers and Sailors can often be closed to accommodate large events in Oakland).

A new feature this year is ParkMobile.
ParkMobile is a reservation app. that allows you to pre-pay for available parking spots prior to arriving to campus. This makes summer parking much easier for our members.

Some of the locations for same-day contact-less payment reservations through ParkMobile include:

A Lot (Posvar Garage, 122 Roberto Clemente Drive, Pittsburgh , PA, 15260) This lot is close to a lot of our Osher in-person classes.
OC Lot (3505 Allequippa Street, Pittsburgh, PA, 15219)
U Lot (3500 Block University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA, 15213)
RA Lot (119 North Bellefield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA, 15260)
PH Lot (8 Boundary Street, Pittsburgh, PA, 15213)
K Lot (4145 O'Hara Street, Pittsburgh, PA, 15213)
TH Lot (139 University Place, Pittsburgh, PA, 15213)
N Lot (100 Schenley Drive, Pittsburgh, PA, 15213)

For information about how to use this app, visit the ParkMobile page.

Please remember that Osher has no direct control over or affiliation with ParkMobile, and our staff cannot troubleshoot any issues you have using this app.
