Spring 2023 has Officially Begun! and Notes from the 1/30 Update

Spring Session Begins Today!

Welcome back!

You should have received emails with your Zoom invitations and classrooms last week. You will receive them again this week on the morning of your first class meeting.

Masks are not required on campus at this time, although people are welcome to wear one if they wish. Visit the Power of Pitt web page for community COVID-19 updates.

Many of our members asked about how and where to park around campus. The ParkMobile app makes parking easier by allowing you to reserve and pre-pay for parking spots.

It is sometimes necessary to cancel a class due to an emergency or illness of the instructor. We will let you know as soon as possible, and we will do our best to reschedule the class or make up the lost time. If you are attending an in-person class, make it a habit to check your email before you leave for class each day.

Weather Policy

During the rare instance of a University closure or class cancellation, University members will be informed by the following communication methods: University emergency notification service (ENS), University main webpage (pitt.edu), University social media channels, and the emergency website (emergency.pitt.edu). In addition, the University will update local news outlets about its operating status.

If the University is closed, audit classes are canceled and the OLLI office is closed. However, OLLI sometimes cancels its own in-person classes due to inclement weather, with or without the University being closed. Online courses typically run as scheduled during winter weather events.

OLLI cannot broadcast closures on the local television or radio news outlets. Instead, we would post on our Facebook page and send out emails to our current members no later than 8:30 a.m. on the morning of the closure.
