Frequently Asked Questions
What does financial assistance cover?
Financial assistance covers a portion of the tuition fee. The $50 annual membership fee is paid by all members, including those receiving assistance. This keeps the membership fee universal and ensures all members have equal standing regardless of aid status. Thus, the percentage of tuition assistance may be greater in the term that membership is purchased.
Who is eligible to request assistance?
Any OLLI member who feels that the tuition fee would present a financial hardship may request assistance. Eligibility is self-reported; there is no income threshold or minimum documentation requirement.
Will requesting assistance affect my standing at OLLI?
No. Requests are kept strictly confidential. All members, assisted and non-assisted, enjoy identical access to courses, lectures, and activities.
Do I need to reapply every term?
Assistance is requested every term during published financial assistance application dates. Returning members in good standing may renew their request.
How do I apply for financial assistance?
An online form is available through the OLLI website and office. Instructions are included on the form. Those who do not have computer access can come in person to the office to complete the form.
Who can I contact with questions?
Please contact the OLLI office directly for confidential assistance. We are happy to answer questions and help guide you through the process.
