OLLI Director's Message

Dear OLLI Supporters,

One thing that I’ve learned in my 6 months here in OLLI at Pitt is that there is never really a dull moment!  There is a constant pattern of actions, interactions, and plans that need to harmonize just perfectly to have this dynamic learning community. This observation is just one learning that I take from my early months here.

It is my pleasure to have gotten to meet many members and instructors as I have settled in at OLLI.  I especially love when you stop in to introduce yourself or to share comments and concerns.  Please don’t ever hesitate to do that!

Currently OLLI staff are busy finalizing courses for the Fall 2018 term.  Our Curriculum Committee has done an excellent job of securing a wide array of courses and topics.  It is helpful both to the committee and to the program when members make course suggestions that we can explore.  Also, if members have friends, neighbors or colleagues with expertise and teaching experience, please share the OLLI course proposal information issued every term.  We welcome new instructors each term and we count on our tried and true instructors who have long standing relationships with us here at OLLI.

Finally, I encourage those who took courses the first summer session to complete your instructor evaluations!  For most of you, an email from the University alerts you to complete an evaluation. We keep the resulting reports and consider your satisfaction as one part of our course proposal selection process.
