OLLI Director's Message

Dear OLLI Supporters,

One thing that I’ve learned in my 6 months here in OLLI at Pitt is that there is never really a dull moment!  There is a constant pattern of actions, interactions, and plans that need to harmonize just perfectly to have this dynamic learning community. New Medicare card, same old scammers

Medicare is mailing new, more secure Medicare cards with a Medicare Number that’s unique to every person with Medicare. Medicare is getting rid of the old card because the old Medicare Number was based on a person’s Social Security Number. Scammers sometimes use Social Security Numbers to try to steal someone’s identity, open new credit cards or even take out loans in someone else’s name. Read More>

Special Interest Groups – What do YOU think?

Members -  we’ve had some inquiry about Special Interest Groups (SIGs), which many OLLIs have as a member benefit.  An OLLI Special Interest Group (SIG) is a group of OLLI members who share a common interest and like to meet outside the normal OLLI class environment to discuss and enjoy this mutual interest. We actually may have several informal SIGs operating already! We would appreciate your time to answer a brief survey about this topic.  Thank you so very much!!
